We have had this Coliseum for almost a year in a 18 gallon tank with two clowns and a tiny crab. It is in my husband’s home office. He is an architect so the theme of the ancient architecture is perfect and his clients love it. It looks classy. It took my fish a few days to decide and discover all inside of the coluseum. Now they love it playing all around, it is the most fun to watch them getting through all the little arches, they seem to be just the right size for the fish not to get stuck in them. The Crabbie that acrobat is crawling all over the structure – it is super fun to watch as well.
A few months ago my clowns even decided to start laying eggs on the back inside wall. The mom would push the dad inside the structure and keep him inside to watch the “kids”, but I’m thinking of getting something nice and flat to put inside of the coliseum for them to start laying eggs on because it is obviously awkward to be trying to lay and fertilize eggs as you are turned sideways. Plus you cannot take the eggs out to separate them from the parents as you should right before they are ready to hatch out.
So overall I would recommend this product to anybody. The only downside is that the plastic on the very edges on the bottom is very sharp and you have to carefully snap a little bit off on the edges before you introduce it in your tank. Also when you take it out for cleaning and then immersing back in the water, do it sideways so you don’t have any air bubbles stuck undeneath it.
